gamsat maths videos

Maths is not directly tested in GAMSAT. Some questions however, will assume you understand fundamental mathematics such as algebra and logarithms.

Please note that while these videos cover a large portion of the GAMSAT assumed knowledge, they are not an exhaustive study guide. You should also consult a textbook to consolidate your learning.

Scientific Notation

If you do not understand scientific notation you will lose a lot of marks in GAMSAT.

Order of Operations

This is fundamental to understanding any mathematical equation.

Exponents

These will appear all over GAMSAT so make sure you understand them.

More Exponents

Just to make sure you have an intuitive understanding of exponents.

Algebra

You will need to use algebra quite often throughout section 3 so make sure you have a solid understanding of it.

Standard Deviation

This may pop up in GAMSAT, so you should know this.

Trigonometry

For some physics problems you will need to know trigonometry.

Logarithms

You need to be comfortable with logarithms - they pop up all over GAMSAT in such places as pH, pKa and half-life.

Graph Types

GAMSAT loves graphs so you must understand the types of graphs and how to manipulate them.

Motion Graphs I

This video shows us what constant acceleration would look like on graphs of acceleration vs time, velocity vs time, and position vs time.

Motion Graphs II

Here we explore the significance of the area under a curve.
